Rodolphe Burger

On June 4, 2026 at La Laiterie in Strasbourg, Rodolphe Burger presents Avalanche, a cinematic concert conceived as a dialogue between electronic lieder and images. A singer-guitarist first recognized with Kat Onoma and later as a solo artist, he places his voice and guitar within a setting of synthetic textures, delivering songs that advance through layers, pulses and subtle reliefs. Here, the repertoire engages with the art-song (lied) form, revisited by electronics and by a visual approach that frames the narrative and shifts its perspectives.

Accustomed to marrying rock, blues and French chanson, Burger works the texts with close attention, searching for moods and privileging space and resonance over showiness. Avalanche continues this trajectory: repetitive motifs, electric guitars with a distinctive grain, electronic lines that support the phrasing and open areas of shadow. Between music and cinema, the set favors continuity over display, allowing images and words the time to leave their imprint. A proposal that speaks as much to the ear as to the eye, anchored in the counter-shot technique favored by Burger.
