Raphaël « Karaoké »

In Karaoké, Raphaël finds himself propelled onto a bare stage, facing a monolith whose purpose he does not know. Just as he is about to walk away, a voice rises from the object: an artificial intelligence offers him a karaoke. The backing track of an old hit starts at full volume, the lyrics fill the space, and the conventions of the genre are present but displaced on stage. A lively exchange follows between the artist and this conversational robot: algorithms versus live performance, instructions versus improvisation. Each pushes the other to the limits, even attempting to force a disconnection.

After ten albums and three books, the singer-songwriter explores a hybrid form, halfway between concert and performance, that questions creation in the age of AI. Voices, texts, cover versions and sonic materials circulate, with the participation of the audience, opening up areas the singer had not planned to explore.
