Ne-Yo and Akon bring the Nights Like This Tour 2026 to Montréal on June 27, 2026 at Centre Bell. Two artists from the 2000s R&B landscape share the stage with catalogs that move between intimate ballads, club cuts and crossovers with pop and hip-hop.
Ne-Yo, born in Camden and raised in Las Vegas, first broke through as a songwriter before stepping out with In My Own Words in 2006, then Because of You in 2007 and Year of the Gentleman in 2008. Across Libra Scale, R.E.D., Non-Fiction, Good Man and Self Explanatory (2022), he blends R&B, mid-tempo grooves and pop hooks, adding dance and electronic elements through collaborations with artists from pop and rap. Beyond the studio, he has written for Rihanna, Beyoncé or Jennifer Hudson, performed on film soundtracks and taken on mentoring roles in TV shows focused on dance and performance.
Akon, born in St. Louis and raised between New Jersey and Senegal, built a sound that travels between American urban music and African rhythms. Trouble (2004), Konvicted (2006) and Freedom (2008) traced a path from R&B and hip-hop toward pop and dance, alongside a steady run of collaborations and production work via Konvict Muzik and KonLive. Since 2010, he has leaned into a global palette linking contemporary R&B, afro-pop and club textures, a direction heard on El Negreeto and Akonda (2019), while staying active on international stages.
