Info
Twenty years after Dreams, The Whitest Boy Alive returns to celebrate its debut album in Paris on August 31, 2026, at the Cabaret Sauvage. Born in Berlin in 2003 around Erlend Øye (vocals, guitar) alongside Marcin Öz (bass), Daniel Nentwig (keyboards) and Sebastian Maschat (drums), the quartet quickly abandoned electronics in favor of an entirely live format. Their trademark: spare arrangements, precise collective playing and a constant attention to groove, positioned between indie pop and touches of funk.
Released in 2006, Dreams established this minimal, warm aesthetic, followed by Rules in 2009, which is more melodic and repetitive and inherits from Berlin’s club culture. After a low-key split in 2012, the group reunited in 2019 for two concerts in South America and has only appeared intermittently since, extending its path with the single "Serious" in 2020.
This Paris date is part of the 20th-anniversary celebration of Dreams and brings back into focus that tight group sound — guitar, bass, keyboards, drums — all in nuance and dynamic, driven by a sense of rhythm that becomes one with the atmosphere.
