Info
Echo & The Bunnymen bring More Songs To Learn & Sing to Toronto on June 13, 2026, at History. Formed in late 70s Liverpool by Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson, later joined by drummer Pete de Freitas, the band shaped a post-punk sound that folds in alternative rock, new wave and a darker psychedelic haze. On stage, McCulloch’s baritone leads the melodies while Sergeant’s guitars draw sharp textures and echoing lines, held by a taut, melodic rhythm section.
The set looks across their catalogue: the early tension of Crocodiles (1980) and Heaven Up Here (1981), the wider sweep of Porcupine (1983) and Ocean Rain (1984), then the return with Evergreen (1997) and What Are You Going to Do with Your Life? (1999). Later releases, from Flowers (2001) to Meteorites (2014), and the reimagined cuts on The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon (2018), complete a journey between melancholic pop and atmospheric rock. Venue: History, 1663 Queen Street East, Toronto, Canada.
