Info
On February 13, 2026 at The Arena in Pickering, Canada, Gowan steps on stage under his own name. Born in Glasgow and raised in Toronto, Lawrence Gowan trained as a classical pianist at the Royal Conservatory before turning to rock. After a first run with Rhinegold in the late 1970s, he opened a solo path in the early 1980s: a self-titled debut in 1982, then Strange Animal (1985) and Great Dirty World (1987), where pop melodies met progressive touches and narrative arrangements. The 1990s shifted the tone: a harder edge on Lost Brotherhood (1990), followed by a more intimate register on But You Can Call Me Larry (1993) and The Good Catches Up (1995).
Since 1999, Gowan has also been the singer and keyboardist with Styx, sharing his time between that role and concerts under his own name, mainly in Canada. On stage, the piano leads the way, with songs spanning decades of writing and a voice that moves from theatrical phrasing to straight-ahead rock. This date in the Toronto area brings his catalog into focus, from early favorites to later corners, with the mix of pop craft and musicianship that has marked his journey.
