Info
Ibrahim Maalouf plays MTELUS in Montréal on July 2, 2026. Trumpeter and composer, born in Beirut and raised in France, he has built a path between rigorous classical training and an appetite for crossings. Taught by his father Nassim and later shaped by the Maurice André school, he first stood out in competitions before branching into records, film and theater. His albums — from Diasporas and Diachronism to Kalthoum and Red & Black Light — trace a map where jazz meets Arabic modes, electronics and pop textures.
On stage, his quarter-tone trumpet anchors a band that moves from tight grooves to airy orchestrations, giving melodies room to breathe. Maalouf also composes for the screen and develops projects through his label Mi’ster Productions, keeping collaboration at the center. This concert ties together more than twenty years of creation, blending personal themes, collective energy and that steady circulation between scenes that fuels his work.
