The Irish Rovers

Formed in Toronto in 1963 by musicians from Northern Ireland, The Irish Rovers shaped a sound anchored in traditional songs, pub choruses and sea stories, threaded with North American folk and country influences. A marathon stint at San Francisco’s Purple Onion in the 60s led to their debut, First of the Irish Rovers, then The Unicorn, the song and album that moved them from coffee houses to concert halls and onto international TV series. Through the 70s and 80s they toured widely, briefly recording as The Rovers before returning to their Celtic identity. Six decades on, they keep writing, recording and playing, with recent nods including a 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards Single of the Year nomination and appearances on Spotify’s Viral Top 50 in the US and the UK.

The band lands at Casino Rama in Orillia on March 22, 2026. Expect a set that weaves classic singalongs and salt‑tinged ballads with newer material, played with the easy swing of a group that has lived these songs across generations. Between tunes, stories from the road and from their early days offer a clear line back to the beginnings, showing how tradition stays alive when it passes from hand to hand, chorus to chorus.
