Info
Feu! Chatterton bring their poetic rock to MTELUS in Montreal on March 5, 2026. Formed in Paris in 2011 around singer and lyricist Arthur Teboul, with Antoine Wilson on bass, Clément Doumic and Sébastien Wolf on guitars and keys, and Raphaël de Pressigny on drums, the band writes French songs where dense storytelling meets a tense, melodic drive. Their name, split between the poet Thomas Chatterton and the cry “Feu!”, sums up that balance of literature and spark that runs through their music.
On stage, they weave spoken inflections, ringing guitars and analog textures, drawing a line from Bashung, Barbara or Gainsbourg to a contemporary sound that leans rock, brushes pop and welcomes electronics. Early marker La Mort dans la pinède set the tone; later pieces like Le Malinche, Boeing or Fou à lier show their taste for slow-burn hooks and detailed arrangements. The set often shifts in waves, moving from shadows to bursts of light, with lyrics front and center on songs such as Souvenirs, L’Oiseau or Ginger. An evening of articulate, rhythmic music carried by a band with a clear sense of form and pulse.
