Les Wriggles

Les Wriggles will be appearing on October 1, 2026, at the Théâtre Sébastopol in Lille. A vocal quartet, they perform humorous songs that observe the world closely—lines that make you laugh, sometimes jar, and can also move you. On the bill are tracks from their latest album Quatre étoiles, a nod to the number of Wriggles and to the sense of opulence that marks our era. Precise lyrics, tight harmonies, measured tempo changes: their writing moves in a simple, direct way, always in the service of the story being told.

The new songs rub shoulders with the group’s well-known numbers, from “Poupine et Thierry” to “La petite Olive.” On stage they alternate a cappella choruses, guitars and sung dialogues, in a lively format where both the retort and the silence have their place. Without moralizing, Les Wriggles point out foibles, small excesses and human flaws, with that knack for turning a situation inside out in a few bars. Enough to rediscover what makes up the group’s DNA: a blend of irony and clear-sightedness.
