Info
Joan Shelley, a singer-songwriter from Kentucky, stops in Paris to present her new album, Real Warmth, at Théâtre l’Archipel Paris on March 18, 2026. A discreet yet firmly established figure in contemporary American folk, she has, across several records, drawn a clear line between intimate ballads, precise fingerpicking, and acoustic arrangements that leave ample room for the voice. Her songs bear the imprint of Appalachian traditions, a taste for spare melodies, and songwriting that observes everyday life with restraint.
On stage, Joan Shelley favors spare formats that highlight guitar and lyrics, in the continuity of albums such as Over and Even, Like the River Loves the Sea, and The Spur. Real Warmth continues this trajectory with luminous compositions and a warm sound, nourished by the regular studio collaborations she undertakes, notably with guitarist Nathan Salsburg on several recordings. At l’Archipel, she will present a repertoire drawing on both her recent releases and older songs, in a concert conceived as a one-on-one encounter with the listener. See you at Théâtre l’Archipel Paris on March 18, 2026.
