Info
Alan Stivell will be in Lille on May 2, 2026, at the Théâtre Sébastopol. A singer, harpist and composer, associated with the revival of the Celtic harp, he has for years been weaving a dialogue between Breton tradition and contemporary musical writing. On the harp he alternates songs in Breton, French and English, dance tunes, laments and instrumental pieces, paying close attention to timbres and textures, between acoustic and electric. His repertoire spans several decades: rearranged ancient melodies, original compositions, references to Gaelic and Welsh traditions, and a few well-known themes that have shaped his path. On stage, his voice and the harp establish a clear, precise frame in which one hears as much the rhythmic pulse as the melodic subtlety, linking Armorica to other Celtic lands. It is an opportunity to experience up close a body of work that is always in movement, in the Sébastopol hall, carried by a musician who has made the Celtic harp a full-fledged concert instrument.
