Hard-Fi land in Bristol for a live set at The Fleece on December 1, 2026, bringing back that very British mix of indie rock built for cramped rooms and big choruses. Formed in 2003 around Richard Archer, Ross Phillips, Kai Stephens and Steve Kemp, the band has always worked with a gritty, everyday angle: songs about suburban England, jobs, nights out, and the tension under the surface, delivered with a straight, no-nonsense writing style.
On stage, expect the punchy, concrete energy of their mid-2000s breakthrough (starting with Stars of CCTV, famously recorded in a former minicab office), but also the darker sweep of Once Upon a Time in the West and the poppier, electronic pulse they opened up on Killer Sounds. Since reforming in 2022 and getting back on the road, Hard-Fi have been playing like a band that knows exactly how to move a crowd, with newer material like “Don’t Go Making Plans” sitting naturally next to the classics.
