Info

Ocean Colour Scene and The Enemy share the stage at The Prospect Building in Bristol on 11 December 2026. Formed in Birmingham in 1989, Ocean Colour Scene moved from early baggy and indie beginnings toward a direct, song-led rock sound that blends britpop, blues rock and a clear mod spirit. Built around Simon Fowler, Steve Cradock and Oscar Harrison, the group has shaped a catalogue stretching from their 1992 debut through Moseley Shoals, Marchin’ Already and One from the Modern, then into the 2000s with a steady line of records. Melodic refrains, crisp guitars and supple rhythms remain their signature, with occasional psychedelic hues and a firm nod to sixties influences.

Also on the bill, The Enemy bring Coventry-bred indie rock with tight, punchy frames and everyday storytelling. Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins and Liam Watts forged their identity on fast, melodic songs with a punk edge, first heard on early demos and sharpened on tours alongside major UK bands. The run of albums We’ll Live and Die in These Towns, Music for the People, Streets in the Sky and It’s Automatic traces their path, followed by a pause in 2016 and a return to the stage in 2022. Together, these two generations of British guitar bands line up for a straightforward night of hooks, grit and no-frills songwriting.
