Wasia Project

On 23 November 2026 Wasia Project will play at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The English sibling duo of singer/guitarist Olivia Hardy and pianist/vocalist William Gao have been crafting their own form of chamber pop since 2019, in which indie pop, jazz pop, subtle electronics and their classical background seamlessly intertwine. They first attracted attention with the single "Why Don’t U Love Me", followed by the EP How Can I Pretend? in 2022, which set a tone of intimate, melodic songs with fully developed arrangements. In 2023 they released "Petals on the Moon", "My Lover Is Sleeping" and "Remember When", while "Ur So Pretty" appeared on the soundtrack of the second season of Heartstopper. Their second EP, Isotope (2024), continues that line with piano, smooth vocals, brass and gentle rhythms.

On stage Wasia Project performs as an expanded duo with a drummer, bassist and brass players. This lineup gives the songs a more organic sound, keeps the dynamics light, and places the focus on ensemble interplay, detail and the relationship between piano and voice.
