Blondshell

On 6 December 2026 Blondshell will play at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Behind that name is Sabrina Mae Teitelbaum, born in New York and working from Los Angeles. As Blondshell she opts for a direct, angular songwriting style at the crossroads of indie rock, alternative rock and grunge, with occasional folk inflections and emphatically played guitars. Previously she performed as BAUM, leaning more toward alternative and dark pop (EP Ungodly, 2018), but from 2022 her focus shifted with the singles “Olympus,” “Kiss City,” “Sepsis” and “Veronica Mars,” which carry echoes of ’90s indie rock and a hint of Britpop.

Her self-titled debut was released on Partisan Records in 2023, followed by tours with Suki Waterhouse, Horsegirl, Porridge Radio and Liz Phair, and appearances at SXSW and Austin City Limits. In 2025 she released a second album, If You Asked for a Picture, in which tension and space alternate, featuring spare choruses and lyrics that take a sharp look at relationships. Live, Blondshell carries that approach forward: songs that build and release, melodies that remain direct, and guitars that add just enough rough edge. Expect a Melkweg set that brings together her two albums, supplemented by the early tracks that established the project’s tone.
