Primal Scream - Xtrmntr

On 13 September 2026 at Electric Bristol, Primal Scream revisit the XTRMNTR era, the sharper edge of their catalogue. Led by Bobby Gillespie with Andrew Innes and Darrin Mooney, the band push their rock/club alloy into serrated electronics, dub pressure and motorik pulse. XTRMNTR’s palette — distortion, drum-machine snap, low-end throb and siren synths — sets the frame for a set that leans into tension and release. The live grammar here is clipped beats under cut-glass guitars, basslines riding the red, and Gillespie’s voice threading anger and incantation without losing the groove.

This show links their club DNA from Screamadelica to the noir streak of Vanishing Point and Evil Heat, with XTRMNTR as the pivot. Primal Scream on stage stay fluid and physical, toggling between live swagger and programmed punch, flipping from dubby space to head-down rush without breaking the flow. In Bristol, they bring a set wired for sweat, strobe and feedback, drawing on that turn-of-the-millennium charge while keeping it present tense.
