Info

The Fureys play Vicar Street, Dublin, on 23 May 2026. Born into a musical family in Ballyfermot, the group grew from the Eddie and Finbar Furey duo into a band shaped by brothers Eddie, Finbar, Paul and George, with key contributions from Davey Arthur. From their early days rooted in Irish traditional tunes, they shifted towards narrative folk ballads without dropping the thread of the tradition. Close vocal harmonies and acoustic instruments remain at the core of their sound, carrying stories of exile, memory and everyday lives.

On stage, The Fureys draw from a catalogue that runs wide: echoes of The Lonesome Boatman, the travel notes of Emigrant, the reflective tone of The Green Fields of France and Golden Days, through later chapters like Wind of Change, Claddagh Road, The Times They Are a Changing and 40 Years... to be continued. The set tacks between instrumentals and sung ballads, letting guitars, bouzouki and whistles frame voices that know how to tell a story. A night rooted in Irish folk, at Vicar Street on Thomas Street in Dublin 8, with songs that have travelled far and still feel close.
