On April 6, 2026, La Maroquinerie in Paris hosts Stoned Jesus and Wheel for a meeting between stoner, doom and prog.
Stoned Jesus: Born in Kyiv in 2009 around Igor Sydorenko, the trio shapes a blend of doom, psychedelic rock and grunge undertones, first revealed with Seven Thunders Roar and the track "I’m the Mountain." After The Harvest the band went on numerous tours and opened for Deep Purple. Today, Stoned Jesus broadens its palette — from the dense atmospheres of Swans to the textures of Deftones — without abandoning its heavy riffs and drawn-out progressions. On stage, the rhythm section gives room to extended formats, while the guitar traces clear melodic lines, balancing tension and release.
Wheel: Formed in Helsinki in 2015, the trio has carved out a place on the prog-metal scene with Moving Backwards and Resident Human. Their new album, Charismatic Leaders, heavier and driven by a political message, examines the appeal of opinion leaders. Recorded with Daniel Bergstrand and Fredrik Thordendal, it pushes rhythmic contrasts, syncopated guitars and taut vocals. Having already toured with Leprous, Vola and Soen, Wheel refines a precise live performance, combining metric grooves, decisive breaks and more open, airy passages.
