Lor

Formed in Kraków in 2015, Lor brings together Jagoda Kudlińska, Julia Skiba, Julia Błachuta and Paulina Sumera around a songwriting that sits between folk and alternative pop, with an acoustic sound in which piano, violin, ukulele, bass and vocal harmonies play a central role. The name Lor takes the last three letters of the word “folklor,” a direct reference to the band’s initial source of inspiration. Lor began touring in Poland from the start and initially developed an English-language repertoire, before broadening its approach to include Polish-language songs beginning with the single “Nikt” in 2021. Their discography includes the albums Lowlight (2019), Sunlight (2020), Panny Młode (2023), Żony Hollywood (2024) and pele-mele (2026). Over the years, Lor has expanded their original folk framework into a more expansive songwriting style while retaining light instrumentation and a strong focus on melodies and lyrics. They have also taken part in several collaborations, notably with Golec uOrkiestra, Zbigniew Zamachowski and the Czech group Vesna, and appear in the musical credits of the film Chłopi (2023). On stage, Lor is active across Polish venues and festivals, maintaining a steady presence since their formation.
