Gotu Jim

Born in Amsterdam in 1997 under the name Jim Lageveen, Gotu Jim established himself from 2018 in Dutch rap with writing focused on urban life, evenings and the flip side of growing up. His universe blends hip-hop, trap and melodically sung rap, with a marked use of Auto-Tune that gives his tracks a color that is detached, light and sometimes disillusioned. Discovered by Abel van Gijlswijk, Gotu Jim became the first artist signed to the Burning Fik label and published in the same year the album Tweede Klas, after the first tracks Licht Uit and Tweede Klas Shit, which accompany his emergence. He followed in 2019 with Generation K, in the continuity of a Dutch rap where everyday student and party life takes an important place. Originating from an Amsterdam artistic milieu, Gotu Jim also developed his on-stage trajectory in clubs, festivals and student circuits in the Netherlands, a setting that largely supported the diffusion of his music. Since 2026, Gotu Jim has also been part of the group Grote Komeet with Jacob Dubbel.
