Simon Grossmann
Between Miami and Venezuela, Simon Grossmann develops bilingual songwriting that blends indie Latino, acoustic folk and sun-drenched pop. The Venezuelan-American singer-songwriter based in Florida drew attention with the album Ciclo (2017), produced by Jose Luis Pardo, where light guitars and rhythms borrowed from bossa, reggae and pop sit alongside intimate lyrics, illustrated by tracks like “Agüitaecoco” and “Limón y Sal.” That debut quickly took him to regional and international stages, from SXSW in Austin to the Hermoso Ruido festival in Bogotá, and onto tours in Mexico, Colombia and the U.S. East Coast. With Mujer Eléctrica (2019), Simon Grossmann honed a more electric sound while maintaining melodic songwriting focused on relationships, everyday life and nostalgia, then toured Europe, Latin America, North America and the Caribbean with his band. In 2020, the EP Triste Pero Fresh, recorded at home during the early pandemic, revealed a more stripped-down side—between guitar-led ballads and lo-fi textures—confirming an approach where the music remains anchored in an urban beach aesthetic at the crossroads of Latin song, indie and a surf sensibility.
