Noah
A Danish pop project that emerged in 2008, Noah was built around singer Troels Gustavsen and keyboardist/composer Lasse Dyrholm, who met at Nykøbing Katedralskole. After Troels began as a solo artist, Noah formed as a duo and moved toward Danish-language pop characterized by a clear vocal, melancholic melodies, and arrangements blending piano with electronic textures. The online release of the track "Alt er forbi" in 2011 marked a turning point, leading to a deal with Copenhagen Records and a string of singles in 2012 that established the band on the national pop scene. The debut album, simply titled "Noah" (2013), set a style centered on intimate songs often dealing with sentimental themes and urban life. In 2015 Lasse Dyrholm left Noah; Troels Gustavsen continued alone under the same name, gradually expanding production toward a broader pop sound, still sung in Danish. The album "1988" (2016) confirmed this evolution and coincided with greater media visibility, notably via the TV show Toppen af Poppen and the song "Vi brænder", chosen as Denmark’s anthem for the Rio Olympics. In 2020 Troels Gustavsen ended Noah as a project and began releasing music under his own name, closing a decade of Noah’s activity in Danish pop.
