Tegi Pannu

Born in Amritsar, in the Indian Punjab, and based in Sydney, Australia, Tegi Pannu has since 2019 developed a career anchored in the contemporary Punjabi scene, at the crossroads of pop, bhangra, hip-hop and R&B. Her name first circulated through a string of singles, then gained greater momentum with her ongoing collaboration with producer Manni Sandhu, notably on “Into You”, “Schedule” or “Fully Loaded”, where Tegi Pannu refines a melodic writing carried by sung choruses, more rap-like verses and production that blends club rhythms, urban textures and references to modern Punjabi pop. This dynamic extends with Disturbing The Peace in 2022, then with the joint project Switchin’ Lanes in 2023 alongside Sukha, which highlights a more collective format and a dialogue among several sensibilities of the diaspora scene. In 2024, Tegi Pannu continues this thread with the EP Broken Silence. Her repertoire, predominantly in Punjabi, sits within a fluid aesthetic where the codes of romantic singing, rap and party music circulate without rupture, between India, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
