A.Paul

Based in Lisbon, A.Paul has developed since the mid-1990s a career tied to the Portuguese and European techno scene. His first record appeared in 1995, at which time he established a language centered on direct, percussive and dense techno, conceived for the club, with elements ranging from mechanical groove to drier, darker textures. A.Paul then built a significant part of his activity around his own structures, notably Squeeze Records and Onh.Cet Records in the 1990s, then Naked Lunch from 2005, before relaunching Onh.Cet in 2012. His discography includes numerous maxis and remixes released under his name but also under aliases such as Loudon Kleer and Beat Therapy, alongside releases on labels such as Planet Rhythm, Synewave and Theory. A.Paul also co-founded MPC with Cisco Ferreira, aka The Advent, and Michaelangelo. As a DJ he has played both at festivals and in clubs connected to Europe's techno circuit, with appearances on stages like Awakenings, Nature One and Tresor, maintaining a focus on rhythmic efficiency and the endurance of the mix.
