EST Gee

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, EST Gee rose to prominence toward the end of the 2010s with a rap anchored in Southern hip-hop and trap, built on direct narratives, dense phrasing, and a dark tone. After playing American football in college and then briefly in Canada, George Albert Stone III turns to music and first releases “Stains” in 2017, followed by the mixtapes El Toro and Die Bloody in 2019. His name circulates more widely with Ion Feel Nun in 2020 and then I Still Don’t Feel Nun the same year, laying the groundwork for a dry, narrative style focused on the street, tension, and endurance. In 2021, EST Gee signs with CMG, Interscope, and Warlike, and appears on Lil Baby’s “Real as It Gets,” broadening his audience beyond his local scene. That same year, Bigger Than Life or Death (2021) marks an important milestone, followed by Bigger Than Life or Death, Pt. 2 (2021). EST Gee then continues with the joint project Last Ones Left with 42 Dugg in 2022, followed by his debut studio album I Never Felt Nun (2022), before Mad (2023) and El Toro 2 (2023). In the current landscape of American rap, EST Gee remains associated with concise writing, austere instrumentals, and a mode of coexisting minimal melodies with raw tension.
