Souly
Born in 1997 as Luca Carlo Politano, Souly grew up in Neuenkirchen in the Münsterland with partly Italian family roots, before spending time in Osnabrück and later Berlin, where his musical trajectory crystallized through contact with the German rap scene. Initially active as an independent artist, Souly developed a style positioned between rap, trap and contemporary R&B, placing strong emphasis on singing, smooth melodies and lyrics often oriented toward the intimate. After an initial series of projects such as Pretty Blizzard (2019), Tage im Westen (2020), Engel fliegen (2021) and Teufel fallen (2022), he broadened his scope with Ich wünschte, es würd’ mich kümmern (2023), followed by Bossbaby Tape (2024) and traence (2025). His progression also rests on regular work with producers like Matt Mendo, Waterboutus, Stoopid Lou and Never Old Ben, as well as collaborations with OG Keemo, Layla, Gianni Suave, Makko and Lucio101. In Souly’s tracks, airy vocal lines, trap rhythms and R&B sensitivity merge into a contemporary urban aesthetic where the boundaries between singing and rapping remain deliberately porous.
