Ed Maverick
Born in Delicias, in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico, Ed Maverick, whose real name is Eduardo Hernández Saucedo, has since the late 2010s developed an intimate writing style carried by a blend of folk, alterlatino and rock with often stripped-down arrangements. A self-taught guitarist, he emerged in 2018 with Mix pa' llorar en tu cuarto, then quickly followed with Transiciones in 2019, two records that establish a format of direct, melancholic and acoustic song, centered on the voice, spare textures and a singing style very close to confession. Ed Maverick then moves from early indie circuits to larger venues in Mexico, before expanding his international presence. In 2020 the EP Esto no tiene nada que ver con Eduardo appears, followed by Eduardo in 2021, an album where his writing becomes more inward and where the sonic approach gains breadth while remaining restrained. Among his collaborations noted are Bratty, Señor Kino and C. Tangana, with whom he participates in 'Párteme la cara'. Ed Maverick's trajectory also includes festivals and tours in North America, Latin America and Europe, notably a Coachella appearance in 2022. In 2024, he releases La nube en el jardín, presented as a continuous piece of 53 minutes 49.
