Holiday Ghosts

Based in Falmouth, Cornwall, Holiday Ghosts grew out of Sam Stacpoole and Katja Rackin before taking shape as a quartet with Ben Nightingale and Morgan Lloyd‑Mathews. The band operates at the intersection of garage rock, jangle pop, indie rock and punk, with short songs, dry guitars, straightforward rhythms and vocals shared by Stacpoole and Rackin, sometimes supplemented by simple harmonies. Emerging in the late 2010s on the UK DIY scene, Holiday Ghosts quickly circulated through venues, festivals and tours across the UK and Europe, within a network close to indie and contemporary garage rock, sharing bills with WITCH, BODEGA, Shannon & the Clams, Juan Wauters, Black Lips and The Bug Club. Their discography includes Holiday Ghosts (2017), West Bay Playroom (2019), North Street Air (2020) and Coat of Arms (2022) — records that continue the same aesthetic ground between abrasive pop, melodic punk and lo‑fi rock without betraying the band’s direct spirit.
