Flabaire

Based in Paris, Flabaire operates within the French house scene that emerged in the mid-2010s around the collective and label D.KO Records, of which he is a member. As a DJ and producer, Flabaire develops music that is both supple and dense, positioned between deep house, a grittier form of house and a disco heritage, with funk, soul and jazz touches in his textural choices and groove work. His first maxi releases on D.KO Records already outline this aesthetic, founded on precise rhythms, warm loops and a direct club-oriented approach without a pursuit of spectacular effects. Over subsequent releases, Flabaire alternates solo productions with collaborations with other artists close to the label, while continuing to perform as a DJ at clubs and electronic music events. Flabaire thus belongs to a generation of French producers who reread the history of Chicago and New York house with a more subdued, more organic sensibility strongly marked by the culture of independent labels.
