K Trap

Born in Lambeth and linked to Gipsy Hill in south London, K-Trap has established himself from 2017 in the British rap landscape with a writing rooted in UK drill, road rap and a dark hip-hop with very direct narratives. Initially identified by his mask-wearing, which he abandoned in 2019 at the time of the No Magic mixtape, K-Trap develops a precise, calm yet tense style, built on dry flows, clear diction and minimal, heavy and often cold productions. After The Last Whip in 2017 and The Re-Up in 2018, he follows with Street Side Effects in 2020, Trapo in 2021 and The Last Whip II in 2022, while multiplying connections with the London scene, notably Blade Brown, Headie One, Abra Cadabra, Krept & Konan or DigDat. The track Warm in 2021 markedly broadens his audience and shows a more concise formula without leaving the drill aesthetics. K-Trap then releases Joints with Blade Brown in 2022 and Strength to Strength with Headie One in 2023, two projects that extend his duo work in a dense and methodical street register. In 2024, K-Trap releases Smile?, his first studio album, which continues this trajectory with a more open approach but still anchored in south London rap.
