Elijah Fox

Based in Los Angeles after growing up in Durham, North Carolina, Elijah Fox is developing a career at the crossroads of jazz, soul, hip-hop, and an instrumental writing style marked by impressionistic colors. Trained in piano at the Oberlin Conservatory, Elijah Fox first made a name for himself as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer and producer, with a supple, melodic playing style that travels between jazz harmonies, psychedelic textures, and formats close to contemporary beatmaking. His work has led him to collaborate in the studio with artists from very different circles, from Childish Gambino to Masego, via YG, ScHoolboy Q, Denzel Curry, Tate McRae, Musiq Soulchild, Lianne La Havas, Kali Uchis and J. Cole. Elijah Fox also performs on stage as keyboardist with the Yussef Dayes Experience, in a context more open to improvisation and to flows between current jazz, groove and fusion. Among his best-known pieces is 'East Village', a piano composition sampled by Drake and 21 Savage on 'Major Distribution'. Alongside his productions and releases under his own name, Elijah Fox also publishes part of his instrumental music under the alias Soren Sostrom.
