Iliza Shlesinger

Born in New York and raised in Dallas, Iliza Shlesinger first trained in improvisation before moving to Los Angeles to develop stand-up focused on social observation, gender relations, and the codes of everyday life, with a very physical performance and a strong sense of character. Her career took a turn in 2008 when Iliza Shlesinger won the sixth season of Last Comic Standing, becoming its first winner. From there, she toured and diversified formats, across stage, television, podcast, and fiction. Her stand-up work has been widely distributed through several filmed specials, including War Paint (2013), Freezing Hot (2015), Confirmed Kills (2016), Elder Millennial (2018), Unveiled (2019), Hot Forever (2022), and A Different Animal (2025). In parallel, Iliza Shlesinger hosted several programs, created the short series Forever 31 in 2016, launched the talk show Truth & Iliza in 2017, and headlined The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show in 2020. She has also acted in film and television, notably in Good on Paper, which she wrote and starred in 2021. More than a strictly musical journey, Iliza Shlesinger is part of the spoken-word performance scene, between stand-up, sketches, and recorded live performance.
