Véronique Gallo

Between the stage and the web, Véronique Gallo develops comedy rooted in everyday family life and seen from the perspective of an active mother. From French-speaking Belgium, this writer and actress originally trained and worked as a French teacher before turning to writing humorous pieces, which she then performs in one-woman shows. Véronique Gallo reached a wide audience in the 2010s with the online video series “Vie de mère”, in which she staged the contradictions of parenthood, the mental load and small couple tensions in a style close to stand-up but nourished by storytelling and chronicle. The success of these clips led her to develop full-length shows based on this material, presented mainly in Belgium and France, and to expand the universe into books and stage projects. Her work relies on very direct interaction with the audience, everyday language and recognizable situations that shape her artistic trajectory.
