Laurent Baffie
Laurent Baffie is a French author, comedian, director and presenter, renowned for his sharp wit and his distinctive way of shaking up conventions. Born in Paris in 1958, he began his radio career in the early 1980s and was quickly noticed for his brief, biting and often unexpected interventions. He gradually established himself as one of the most identifiable voices in the audiovisual landscape, writing for numerous shows while building a stage and media presence based on improvisation, measured provocation and the art of subverting expectations. His appearances on Nulle Part Ailleurs, his hidden-camera sketches and his work as a writer for Les Grosses Têtes helped to create an immediately recognizable signature. At the same time, Baffie developed a significant theatrical career as playwright and director, with plays that reached wide audiences while retaining his taste for the absurd, verbal mechanics and offbeat situations. He has also published several books — ranging from narratives and humorous lists to more personal projects — extending his writing across different forms. Over the years he has become a central figure of francophone humour, identifiable by his direct tone and appetite for improvisation. Still active on stage, on the air and in publishing, Laurent Baffie continues a career in which creativity remains central, marked by a rarely diminished freedom and a constant ability to surprise.
