D'jal
Part of the new generation of Francophone stand-up, D'jal cultivates a comedy marked by a mix of references drawn from his Moroccan family culture and everyday life in France. A French comedian of Moroccan origin, D'jal first performed in small venues before being noticed in the mid‑2000s and later taking part in the Jamel Comedy Club, which gave him TV exposure and helped launch his first major tours. His work relies on recurring characters, deliberately used accents and very physical performance, staging the tensions between working‑class neighborhoods, the world of work, immigration and family relationships. D'jal progressively builds his shows around long stories and group situations, relying on improvisation with the audience and the frequent use of bilingualism or words borrowed from several languages. Very present on the Internet, he also shares his sketches as videos, which extends his stage activity and allows him to anchor his comedy in a register that is both narrative and highly visual, between classic stand‑up and character theatre.
