Active on the German electronic scene, producer and DJ Gilles Aiken, under the name Edward, has developed a distinctive approach to house and techno informed by Berlin club culture and a strong sensitivity to atmospheric textures. Based in Berlin, Edward has built his discography since the late 2000s on labels such as Giegling and White, crafting a world that blends minimal techno, deep dub, psychedelic touches and occasionally fractured tempos. The albums “Teupitz” (2012) and “Into A Better Future” (2014), released on Giegling, establish a sonic language rooted in long loops, misty atmospheres and discreet rhythmic details, drawing Edward close to both the dub‑techno tradition and experimental house. On stage, his live sets favour gradual development and subtle shifts in dynamics rather than abrupt breaks, while his DJ sets move between house, hypnotic techno and more ambient excursions — a continuity that reflects his studio work and his enduring place at the artistic core of Giegling.
