Based in Detroit within the Interdimensional Transmissions network, Erika has been developing an electronic music practice since the 2000s focused on techno and electro, with a marked taste for dark textures, cosmic atmospheres and long, slowly evolving structures. A producer, DJ and live performer, she alternates between solo work and collective projects, notably as one half of the duo Ectomorph with BMG, which has firmly rooted her in Detroit’s underground scene and events like No Way Back. Her album “Hexagon Cloud,” released in 2013 on Interdimensional Transmissions, distills this approach—spare rhythms, winding basslines and ambient-leaning passages—and places Erika in a register where repetition primarily serves subtle variation. Her sets favour immersive sequences, often slow to unfold, where techno, electro, industrial influences and more experimental elements coexist without abrupt breaks, crafting a distinct sonic identity within Detroit’s electronic galaxy.
