Wille and the Bandits

Formed in Cornwall, in the southwest of England, Wille and the Bandits has since 2010 developed a repertoire situated between rock, blues, folk and Latin-flavoured touches, with a marked taste for acoustic textures and smooth grooves. Around the singer and guitarist Wille Edwards, the band has built its live approach on a stage nourished by British and European festivals, with appearances at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Green Man and Shambala, as well as an appearance on the German show Rockpalast. Wille and the Bandits first released New Breed in 2010, then Breakfree in 2012 and Grow in 2013, before Steal in 2017, Paths in 2019 and When the World Stood Still in 2022. The lineup has also evolved over the years, while keeping a sound centered on Wille Edwards' voice, the slide guitars and a combination of keyboards, bass and drums that links blues-rock, psychedelic folk and roots influences. Wille and the Bandits thus alternate between electric compositions, more organic passages and open textures, in an aesthetic that remains attached to collective playing as much as to improvisation.
