Wallace
Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Wallace Gollan develops, under the name Wallace, a musical universe positioned between neo-soul, contemporary jazz and hip-hop influences, first within the local scene and later after moving to Sydney. Trained in jazz singing, Wallace relies on a flexible voice, a pronounced sense of syncopation and a taste for vocal harmonies to craft tracks where melodic lines settle over broken rhythms, warm basses and subtle electronic textures. From the mid-2010s she emerged with a series of singles produced with various Australian beatmakers, before releasing the EP "Pole to Pole" in 2017, which established a writing style focused on short formats and particular attention to vocal arrangements. Later based in London, Wallace continues to work between intimate concerts and collaborations with musicians and producers from the soul, jazz and electronic scenes, notably with the Dutch group Kraak & Smaak on the track "Chance", consolidating an approach in which each release explores the link between intimate narrative and a jazz-inherited groove.
