Trisha Paytas

Born in Riverside, California, and partly raised in Illinois before settling in Los Angeles, Trisha Paytas has built since the late 2000s a career at the intersection of the internet, the screen and music. Active on YouTube from 2007, she made a name for herself in vlogging, face-to-camera commentary and pop-culture formats while also appearing frequently on television, in films and in music videos. At the same time she has released an independent discography centered on direct pop heavily informed by web culture, ranging from Christmas songs and ironic tracks to sentimental pieces and dance-pop–tinged productions. Verified releases include the EPs Fat Chicks (2015), Superficial Bitch (2015), Showtime (2016), Warrior (2016), Chicken Fingers and Lipo (2017), Chicken Parm and Heartbreak (2018), Songs From My Kitchen Floor (2019), Rebirth (2019) and Postpartum Popstar (2025), as well as the album Under the Covers (2015). In 2021 she also contributed to the Sadboy2005 project, oriented toward emo-pop and pop-punk. Her recent trajectory also includes podcasting, first with Frenemies between 2020 and 2021 and then with Just Trish from 2023 — two formats that extend Paytas’s strongly autobiographical aesthetic and her constant engagement with digital cultures.
