Villanova

Based in Paris, the duo Villanova has been developing since the early 2010s a personal approach to house and melodic techno, marked by rock, new wave and indie influences. Formed around DJing and production closely tied to Parisian nightlife, Villanova has steadily made its mark on the European electronic scene with EPs released notably on My Favorite Robot Records and Rebirth, establishing a sound that is at once hypnotic, dark, and meticulously detailed in its rhythmic construction. Villanova’s productions favor long progressions, enveloping basslines and synthetic textures that regularly make room for vocals, treated as an atmospheric layer rather than a lead element. Alongside their studio work, Villanova plays frequent sets in clubs and at festivals, where the duo stretches this repertoire into dancefloor-oriented formats, ranging from slow deep house to more direct techno.
