Valentino Kanzyani

Born in Koper, Slovenia, Tine Kocjančič performs under the name Valentino Kanzyani and has built a career rooted in techno, with a sound that for a long time blended rhythmic tension, dry grooves and house or minimal inflections depending on the period. Valentino Kanzyani emerged in the mid-1990s on the Ambasada Gavioli club scene alongside DJ Umek, at a time when Slovenia’s electronic scene was rapidly taking shape. He later co-founded the label Recycled Loops, which has accompanied much of his production and DJ work. His discography spans the EPs First Level Completed E.P. and Under Pressure EP (2000) and House Soul EP (2001), then iPray (2005), Paradox (2006), the Love & Gratitude EP series 1–3 (2012–2013), Psiamsteram (2014), Primera Causa (2016) and J.CS SPACE EP (2017). Valentino Kanzyani has also released several official mixes, including Intechnique: A Continuous Mix By Valentino Kanzyani (2005), and remixed artists such as Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Ken Ishii, Nathan Fake and John Acquaviva. Active on European and international club stages, he also delivered an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 in 2003.
