Together PANGEA
Formed in 2008 between Santa Clarita and Los Angeles, Together PANGEA first emerged in the California garage-punk scene with a raw, nervous and melodic sound, driven by William Keegan, Danny Bengston and Erik Jimenez. Initially called Pangea, the band grew out of shows on the CalArts campus and in Southern California venues, before releasing Jelly Jam in 2010 and Living Dummy in 2011. After the EP Killer Dreams in 2012, they adopted the name Together PANGEA and broadened their audience on the American indie-rock circuit, sharing bills with Ty Segall, Wavves, Mikal Cronin and The Black Lips. Badillac, released in 2014, continued in that vein between garage rock, punk and power-pop hooks, while the 2015 EP The Phage marked a shift to tighter songwriting. With Bulls and Roosters (2017), Together PANGEA moved toward a more controlled, less confrontational rock approach, without abandoning their lo-fi, alternative base. That transition continued with the EPs Non Stop Paranoia (2018) and Dispassionate (2019), and culminated with DYE in 2021, where the band combined punk tension, more open melodies and psychedelic tones.
