Tim Christensen
Born in Copenhagen in 1974, Danish singer, guitarist and songwriter Tim Christensen first came to prominence in the early 1990s as the frontman of the rock trio Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, active on the Danish alternative scene until the band’s initial split in 1998. Christensen then launched a solo career in which he developed a melodic rock style with pop and power-pop accents, marked by a taste for well-structured songs and vocal harmonies. His debut album, “Secrets on Parade” (2000), followed by “Honeyburst” (2003), established a range between introspective ballads and more electric tracks, while “Superior” (2008) pushed the rock element and arrangement craft further. Alongside concerts in Denmark and abroad, he released the live recording “Live at Abbey Road Studios 2004” (2004) and recorded “Tim Christensen and The Damn Crystals” (2011) with his backing band. Deeply attached to Anglo‑Saxon pop of the 1960s and 1970s, Christensen has often nodded to Paul McCartney, including the stage project “Pure McCartney” in 2013 with Mike Viola and Tracy Bonham, while also resuming activities with Dizzy Mizz Lizzy.
