Ben Kweller
Born in San Francisco in 1981 and raised in Texas, Ben Kweller made his mark as a teenager with the band Radish, blending alternative rock and grunge energy on the American independent scene of the 1990s. After settling in New York, he launched a solo career defined by indie rock, power pop, and folk, driven by melodic writing and a very direct tone. His debut solo album, Sha Sha (2002), followed by On My Way (2004) and Ben Kweller (2006), established guitar-centered songwriting, catchy choruses, and an intimate streak that aligned him with the American singer-songwriter scene of the 2000s. With Changing Horses (2009), Kweller steered part of his work toward folk and alt-country, before returning to a more electric sound on Go Fly a Kite (2012). Active between the studio and the road and present on both American and European stages, he also pursues collaborative projects, notably the trio The Bens with Ben Folds and Ben Lee, underscoring his place within a network of indie artists spanning pop, rock, and Americana.
