Tommy Four Seven

Based in Berlin after beginning his career in the United Kingdom, Tommy Four Seven has been developing a dark, physical and highly percussive form of techno since the late 2000s, drawing on industrial, EBM and fractured rhythms. His early maxi singles were released notably on CLR, and his work later expanded to labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts and Electric Deluxe, before the albums Primate (2011) and Veer (2014) were issued. In both his productions and DJ sets, Tommy Four Seven favors dry textures, taut basses and an often abrasive progression, with particular attention to sonic detail and rhythmic tension. At the same time he founded the label 47 as an extension of this aesthetic, issuing direct, dense and often experimental techno and organising events across several countries. His output also includes These Hidden Hands, a parallel project that furthers the link between techno, post‑industrial and dark ambient.
