The Pitcher

Born in Deurne, the Netherlands, The Pitcher took shape in 2000 as a hardstyle project pairing producer Michel Pollen with DJ Luc van Veghel, the latter embodying the name The Pitcher on stage. Initially conceived in the studio, The Pitcher fits within the Dutch hardstyle of the 2000s with releases on Superplastik and later on Fusion Records, characterized by a sound built around prominent melodies, heavy rhythms and songwriting aimed at the dancefloor. From early tracks like 'Pump It Loud!!' and 'Start Rocking' to the album Smack The Album released in 2010, The Pitcher developed an aesthetic often associated with the euphoric side of the genre. From 2016 onward the project evolved its formula toward a harder, darker approach closer to raw hardstyle, audible on tracks such as 'Bigger Gang Bigger Guns', 'Suicide' and 'Which Wolf To Feed'. The Pitcher has also collaborated with other names from the hardstyle scene—notably Lady Faith, D-Block & S-te-Fan, DV8 Rocks! and Donkey Rollers—and runs in parallel with the project Notorious Two.
