The Hope Conspiracy
Formed in Boston in late 1999 around Kevin Baker and Jonas Feinberg, The Hope Conspiracy became part of the American hardcore scene with a dark, tense and confrontational sound, sitting between hardcore punk, metalcore and a very abrasive melodic hardcore. After an initial demo and the album Cold Blue in 2000, the band refined its songwriting on File 03 (2001) and Endnote (2002), where heavier riffs and denser structures took on a greater role. The Hope Conspiracy went on a first hiatus in the mid-2000s, returned with Death Knows Your Name in 2006 and the EP True Nihilist in 2009, before a longer break. In the meantime, members participated in other projects within the punk, hardcore and noise scenes, including All Pigs Must Die, Hesitation Wounds, Paint It Black, None More Black and Bars. Returning to activity in 2023, The Hope Conspiracy first released the EP Confusion/Chaos/Misery and then the album Tools of Oppression/Rule by Deception in 2024. In this new phase, the band retains a direct, nervous aesthetic built on dry tempos, massive guitars and angry vocals.
