The Clarks

Formed in 1986 around Scott Blasey, Rob James, Greg Joseph and Dave Minarik, The Clarks take root in Indiana, Pennsylvania, before settling into the Pittsburgh orbit, where the band builds most of its journey. Their rock sits in an American melodic vein, between power pop, roots rock and alternative rock, with bright guitars, a strong sense of the chorus and direct writing. After the albums I'll Tell You What Man... (1988), The Clarks (1991) and Love Gone Sour, Suspicion, and Bad Debt (1994), The Clarks broaden their regional audience in the 1990s and briefly sign with MCA for Someday Maybe (1996). The band then regains national momentum with Let It Go (2000), Another Happy Ending (2002) and Fast Moving Cars (2004), a period marked by more extensive touring and a regular presence on stages in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Faithful to its core, The Clarks continued independent production with Restless Days (2009), Feathers & Bones (2014), Rewind (2015), an album of covers tied to its early influences, then Madly in Love at the End of the World (2018). Over time, the lineup expanded its live palette with keyboards and country-rock textures, while staying rooted in a band-focused approach firmly anchored in the live circuit.
